ISLE OF DOGS (Wes Anderson, 2018, Cert PG)

Saturday 29th September
Stow Film Lounge @CentrE17,No 1 Church Hill, Walthamstow, London E17 3AB at 10.30am

Our first Kids’ Film Lounge of our 2018 autumn programme is this stop animation wonder from established film-maker Wes Anderson.
In a dystopian near-future Japan, an influenza virus spreads throughout the canine population, with a risk of crossing to humans. The new, authoritarian mayor of Megasaki City, Kobayashi, signs a decree banishing all dogs to Trash Island, despite a scientist named Professor Watanabe insisting he is close to finding a cure for the dog flu. The first to be exiled is Spots, who belonged to Atari Kobayashi, the orphaned nephew and ward of the mayor.
