ONE DAY IN LANGTHORNE PARK (Marcus Shepherd, 2021, Cert U)

Sunday 19th September

Stow Film Lounge @ Langthorne Park, Birch Grove, Leytonstone, London E11 4GY
We are delighted to be working with The Barbican once again for Leytonstone Loves Film 2021. This cinematic extravaganza has quickly become a mainstay in Waltham Forest’s yearly cultural programme. For the second year in succession Stow Film Lounge has been commissioned to make a new film relating to the festival and this year the focus is on Langthorne Park.

Film Synopsis:
An original, documentary film celebrating this vibrant, historic, much-loved, well-used local space, just off the Leytonstone high road. Following on from TAKE THE HIGH RD – 1DLP will be a shorter film showing Langthorne Park from sunrise to sunset, presenting a day, capturing the sights and sounds, the location, the people, organisations,
families and individuals who know and use the park, glorifying its past, exploring its present and suggesting its future.
Park users can show and tell us about their park, a film for the people, made with the people. And a film they can see on the big screen where it was made.

SFL has begun conversations with key organisations and groups based in the park, to begin filming across the summer – with completion for LLF in September. The film’s duration will feature a mix of contributions from residents & indeed anyone that has a passion for Langthorne, whether it be it’s Basketball courts, Climbing Wall, Outdoor gym, Ecology area, Gardens, Public art, Amphitheater, Playgrounds and community space. By getting to know and show the park, SFL will create a film project and also inform the local population about events planned for LLF, building on relationships with the community.

One Day In Langthorne Park can be a memorable and entertaining film which engages with the community as well as a practical and creative document for this year’s LLF – which along with 2020’s Take The High Road – represent a lasting record of Leytonstone and work done for and by the LLF.
