Experience Fritz Lang’s iconic 1927 sci-fi epic Metropolis like never before – with a full live soundtrack performed by the electrifying sci-fi surf band Palooka 5.

This special collaborative screening features the legendary 1984 Giorgio Moroder cut (84 mins), reimagined with Palooka 5’s unique blend of 1960s-tinged surf rock and futuristic sound – think B-52s meets Blade Runner. Expect a riot of live instrumentation, retro flair, and a whole new dimension to one of cinema’s most influential works.

Opening the evening is Georges Méliès’ The Impossible Voyage (1904) accompanied by a live DJ set from Lee Grimshaw (Spinout Nuggets), spinning otherworldly grooves to match the magic on screen.

Palooka 5’s brand new album ‘MetroKino’ released on Spinout Nuggets and inspired by Metropolis, will be available to buy at the event.

Stay after the film for a post-screening DJ set with Lee Grimshaw.
